This is Leopardstown’s first race meeting of the Flat Season! The 7 race card featuring the Ballysax Stakes is a great day for racing enthusiasts. We are delighted to bring you another ‘Meet The Heroes of the Turf’ experience where you will have the opportunity to meet leading lights of racing including trainer Jessica Harrington, Multiple champion flat jockey Johnny Murtagh, teen sensation Jack Kennedy, champion jockey turned trainer Joseph O’Brien, flat jockey Chris Hayes and many more.

 

Meet the Heroes of the Turf featuring the Ballysax Stakes

This is a great day out which offers you unique insight into the sport of racing with a chance to meet leading lights of racing up close and personal.

The day includes a fantastic line-up of guests featuring new emerging racing talent as well as some leading women in racing. Enjoy this great day out for young and old – in your own reserved area – the Private Dining in the 1888 Restaurant – which overlooks the finishing post at the racetrack. This experience has something for everyone – and is a great way to learn about racing with friends, family or a group of people! Throughout the afternoon, Robbie Irwin from RTE will be interviewing different personalities from the industry that will give you an insight into racing including:

– Leading broadcaster Robbie Irwin from RTE will be your private MC for the afternoon.
– Multiple Champion Flat Jockey Johnny Murtagh will chat about his career and the season ahead
Kevin O’ Ryan from At The Races who is also a jockeys agent will talk on his various roles in racing and will offer tips for the day.
Justice Mr. Frank Clarke who is a Steward of the Turf Club will talk on the role of the Turf Club and of a steward at a race meeting.
Pat Keogh the Chief Executive of Leopardstown will talk on the business of a racecourse
David Attwood the Operations Manager of Leopardstown who give an insight into the running a race meeting.
