TV3’s Anna Daly and TV chef Rachel Allen are teaming up to raise much-needed funds for LauraLynn and the Blackrock Hospice on Wed 2nd March. Anna will be taking on the role of MC for ‘An Evening with Rachel Allen’ in the Pavilion at Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin at which Rachel will be showing how to cook some of her favourite seasonal dishes. Together she and Anna plan to make it an unforgettable evening of food and fun.
Rachel will also be signing her books on the night, guests can browse and buy culinary goodies and other items from the artisan stalls and many local businesses have contributed some top raffle prizes.
Anna said, “I’ve worked with the team at Laura Lynn many times through my filming with Ireland AM and have always been blown away by their fun spirit and playful, upbeat mood despite the underlying sadness. After all it’s a hospice for brave children battling with life limiting diseases, the only one in Ireland which is hard to believe. As a mother myself this really resonates with me. I’ve been granted some great company in Rachel Allen and look forward to a good chat, plenty of laughs and getting a taste of some of her wonderful dishes!!”
The aim is to raise over €10,000 for LauraLynn and the Blackrock Hospice and it’s been organised by Clif Lenehan, owner of Fenelons Butchers in Stillorgan Shopping Centre to celebrate the shop’s 50th anniversary. Clif, who started work in Fenelons in his teens and took over the business in 2007, said, “I was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago but thankfully have fully recovered. 50 years is a major milestone for any business nowadays and I wanted to celebrate this and my own continuing good health by giving something back to my local community and supporting these two local charities and their fantastic work.”
Established in 1966, Fenelons Butchers employs 16 staff at its premises in Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Dublin. It is a certified member of the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland and current Irish champions in its National Spiced Beef Competition. Fenelons was named amongst the top ten butcher shops in Ireland at the 2015/16 Star Shop Awards.
